Recipe Guide
- → What type of pasta works best for this dish?
Elbow macaroni is ideal because it cooks evenly in the microwave and holds sauce well, but small pasta shapes can be substituted.
- → How can I prevent the mug from overflowing while cooking?
Use a large microwave-safe mug (at least 12 oz/350 ml) and stir frequently during cooking to avoid spilling.
- → Can I customize the cheese used in this dish?
Yes, sharp cheddar offers great flavor, but mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or even cream cheese can be used to vary creaminess and taste.
- → Is it necessary to use water before adding milk?
Yes, microwaving the pasta in water first ensures it cooks properly before adding milk and cheese for a creamy sauce.
- → How can I add more flavor without extra effort?
Incorporate optional seasonings like Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and a sprinkle of smoked paprika or Parmesan to enhance taste with minimal steps.
