Probiotic Soda Citrus Mocktail (Printable)

# What you'll need:

→ Probiotic Base

01 - 4 cups filtered water
02 - 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water kefir grains or ginger bug
04 - 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

→ Flavoring

05 - 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
06 - 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
07 - 8 fresh mint leaves
08 - 4 thin orange slices
09 - Ice cubes for serving

# Method:

01 - In a sanitized glass jar, dissolve organic cane sugar in filtered water. Add water kefir grains or ginger bug along with fresh lemon juice. Stir gently with a non-metallic spoon until combined.
02 - Cover the jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter secured by a rubber band. Allow to ferment at ambient temperature (68–77°F) for 24 to 48 hours, until the liquid becomes gently fizzy and tangy.
03 - Remove and strain out water kefir grains or ginger bug using a fine mesh strainer. Reserve for future use or discard according to preference.
04 - In a pitcher, combine the fermented soda base with fresh orange juice, fresh lime juice, and mint leaves. Stir gently to blend flavors.
05 - Fill individual glasses with ice cubes. Pour the mocktail over the ice and garnish each glass with a thin slice of orange and additional mint leaves if desired.
